Hanover Road provides long-term accommodation for people with enduring mental health problems. Hanover Road consists of a purpose built block of 10 flats, 8 of which are designed for single occupancy, and 2 for shared occupancy.
The flats are let by Paddington Churches Housing Association, and the building is staffed through Brent, Kensington, Chelsea and Westminster Mental Health NHS Trust. Staff are on site 24 hours a day, which gives individuals the opportunity to access practical and emotional support at any time.
To become eligible for tenancy, an individual must have an appropriate level of need, be willing to engage in support, comply with care plans and the Care Programme Approach, and have an ability to manage their own finances and medication.
Hanover Road is conveniently located within the diverse North London community of Willesden, which has a lot to offer. Individuals who stay with the scheme are encouraged to become involved and integrated into the local community.
The scheme operates a person-centred approach and recognises the whole needs of the individual and not just their mental health problems. This enables staff to help each person achieve their greatest level of independence and quality of life. Each tenant normally has a care package, which involves support from other professionals within the local community mental health team.
