The
Parkside Clinic is a long-established consultation and therapy centre for people with emotional, behavioural and other mental health problems of all ages and backgrounds in the North Kensington area of West London. We have a multi-disciplinary group of professionals that includes psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, clinical nurses, child and adult psychotherapists, art therapists and primary mental health workers. Some of our staff have particular expertise in different forms of psychotherapy.
The clinic is organised into two closely related departments: The Child & Family Department and the Adult Department. Both departments operate on an appointment basis; walk-in facilities are available for young people from 13 to 25 years of age on Wednesdays between 4-6pm. We have facilities for the disabled, including wheelchair access and a loop telephone system. We also have strong administrative support for both departments.
There are two recently developed joint services at the Parkside Clinic: the Parental Mental Health Services offered by the NSPCC, CNWL's Children and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) and adult teams, and the Arabic Families Service provided by a group of Islamic counsellors who also work in partnership with the adult and CAMHS services.
Referrals to the Parkside Clinic come from a range of different healthcare professionals and services, including CNWL's community mental health teams and in-patient services. As we want the clinic to be as accessible as possible to people in our local community, we encourage families and young people to refer themselves.
