Service Description
The Stanley Day Unit is located inside the Woodland Centre in the grounds of Hillingdon Hospital and provides a day service for up to 30 older adults with enduring mental health problems.
The Stanley Day Unit is open Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm. The unit is staffed by nurses, occupational therapists and support staff. Other staff include psychologists, chiropdists, physiotherapists and dieticians.
The unit runs a therapeutic group programme daily to support individuals in maintaining independence in the community. The unit also supports early discharge from hospital and provides respite to carers.
Transport is provided for those unable to use public transport.
Referrals are made to the unit by the two inpatient wards and the community mental health teams.
