For Local Patients

(North West Sector Consortium which includes Kensington & Chelsea, Westminster, Hounslow, Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham and Hillingdon)

  • GPs from the boroughs of Hillingdon, Hounslow and Ealing can refer through the local community mental health team
  • GPs from the boroughs of Brent, Harrow, Kensington & Chelsea, Hammersmith & Fulham and Westminster can now refer directly to Vincent Square Clinic following agreement by the Primary Care Trust
  • The community mental health team screens the client to ascertain whether eating disorder is primary diagnosis or whether personality problems/other enduring mental illness which can be managed by community mental health team are primary diagnosis
  • Community mental health team forwards assessment request letter, presenting problem, Body Mass Index (BMI) and brief history to Vincent Square Clinic

Once Vincent Square Clinic has received the referral urgent referrals are assessed within two weeks and non-urgent referrals within eight weeks. Once the client has been assessed a decision will be made regarding best care for the client. This could be treatment as a in-patient, day-patient or on either a tertiary waiting list for outpatient treatment or secondary waiting list for outpatient treatment.

For Out of Area Patients

If you feel you have any patients who are suitable for this service, please contact the Service Manager Josephine Honour on 020 8237 2104 in the first instance. Once funding arrangements have been agreed, we can organise an assessment to see whether the patient is suitable for the service. Costings for the service are available on request, again please contact Josephine Honour if you require this information.

For urgent in-patient admissions we are usually able to make beds available at short notice.
