We are a community based service working Monday to Friday (9am-5pm) covering the NW8 and parts of NW1 areas of North East Westminster who are able to see clients in their own homes, at our base, or another local venue. The team is made up of health and social service staff from different professional backgrounds. We are also a training agency for professional trainees who work under supervision.
We work with individuals, families, carers and groups of people experiencing problems which affect their mental health, such as disturbances of thinking/behaviour, depression, inability to cope with everyday tasks, anxiety, returning to community following hospital admission, social isolation and relationship difficulties. The age range of our clients is 16-65 years.
We are able to offer the following services:
- Assessments (for treatment / under the Mental Health Act / Needs led assessments)
- Advice on / administration of medication
- Advice / training in activities of daily living
- Counselling
- Group work
- Family work
- Cognitive behaviour therapy
- Consultation to carers, relatives and other statutory and voluntary services
- Arranging day or residential care
- Assistance under the Chronically Sick and Disabled Persons Act
Each day there is an approved Social Worker available to undertake Mental Health Act assessments. For referrals requiring a speedy response, the team can offer an appointment within 24 to 48 hours, or, if appropriate, have an immediate urgent assessment with our duty team.
We encourage referrals from a wide range of agencies, professionals, individuals and carers. Referrals can be made in writing, giving pertinent details, or by telephone. We welcome referrals from people of all backgrounds and work with interpreters where our clients' first language is not English.
