This service was previously South Westminster Day Service and since merger with West End day service in April 2007 it is now Bloomburg Day Services which includes the inpatient therapy team for the Gordon hospital providing therapeutic activities to the patients on the 3 acute wards of the hospital.
The Bloomburg Day Services provide a variety of groupwork and individual keyworking sessions (to support the group work) to clients who are cared for under the CMHTs Vic 1, 2, 3 and West End CMHT. Both the day service and inpatient service also provide arts therapies and gym sessions.
Our aim is to provide a time limited (up to 12 months) assessment, treatment and rehabilitation service for clients who are aged 16-65 and who have a severe and/or enduring mental illness. The service is aimed specifically at clients who are engaged with CMHTs or CRT in the SW1 area, or who are inpatients at the Gordon Hospital. The Service offers clients an opportunity to identify, discuss and work in areas they may be experiencing difficulty with. This may include personal independence, motivation, daily living skills, structuring their time, social skills, or coming to terms with their mental illness or psychological difficulties.
A variety of different group work is offered as the main form of therapy supported by individual keyworking sessions.
Referrals are made via the Victoria Community Mental Health Teams, CRT and wards. The staff team consists of nurses, occupational therapists, support workers, art therapist, administrator, music therapist, fitness instructor, sessional workers, dance and movement therapist, pottery tutor and at times students on placement.
The Service is open Monday-Friday from 09:30 - 16:15hrs.
