IN PATIENT SERVICE
Referrals accepted from:
- General Practitioners
- Social Workers
- Psychiatrists
- Obstetricians/Paediatricians
- Midwives (in liaison with GPs)
- Primary Care Professionals
It may be necessary for the local responsible psychiatrist to be involved in the referral process.
We can process a referral more quickly if all appropriate background information is given to us at the time of referral.
In most cases we can admit quickly if the information is provided by the referrer suggests that this is an appropriate referral.
A member of the medical staff will contact the referrer within the one working day to discuss the suitability of the referral and arrange an assessment meeting or an admission as felt appropriate.

PERINATAL OUTREACH SERVICE
Referrals accepted from:

- Psychiatrists/ CPN’s
- Obstetricians/Paediatricians
- Midwives (in liaison with GPs)
- Health Visitors
- Primary Care Professionals
It may be necessary for the local responsible psychiatrist to be involved in the referral process.
We can process a referral more quickly if all appropriate background information is given to us at the time of referral.
All referrals are discussed at a weekly meeting and then a member of the Perinatal Outreach Service will contact the client and arrange an assessment meeting.
Please note, the Perinatal Outreach Service is not an emergency response service and is only available to service users who reside in Brent and Harrow.

PARENTING ASSESSMENT SERVICE

Referrals accepted from:
Child & Family Social Services
Though enquiries can be made by Solicitors, Psychiatrist, Obstetricians, Paediatricians it will be necessary for the local Child & Family Social Services to be involved in order to commence with the referral process.
We can process a referral more quickly if all appropriate background information is given to us at the time of referral.
In most cases we can offer a Network meeting quickly if the information is provided by the referrer suggests that this is an appropriate referral. This Network meeting is where the Team consider the viability of admitting to this Service.
Appropriate referrals are processed in order of receipt and are offered the next available date for a network meeting.
Please note - there are 2 beds available for this service on the Unit, if a bed is not available following a Network meeting where it is thought appropriate to offer an admission, then the client’s name would go on a waiting list.
